Delroo Inc. ("Delroo", "we", "us") operates the Delroo food-delivery marketplace at delroo.com and through our mobile apps. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the rights you have over it.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. Name, email address, phone number, and password when you create a Delroo account. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the basic profile information those services share (name, email, profile picture).
- Delivery information. The addresses you save for delivery, your current location at order time (with permission), and any delivery instructions you give.
- Order information. Items ordered, restaurant chosen, cart contents, totals, tips, special requests, ratings and reviews.
- Payment information. Payment is processed by our PCI-compliant payment partner (Stripe). Delroo does not store full credit card numbers. We retain a token, the last four digits, and the card brand to display in your account.
- Device and usage information. Browser type, IP address, app version, pages viewed, links clicked, and approximate location derived from your IP. We use this to keep the service running, detect fraud, and improve features.
- Communication. Messages between you and the restaurant or driver during an active order, and support requests you send to us.
2. How we use your information
- To create your account, authenticate sign-in, and verify your identity.
- To place orders with restaurants, dispatch drivers, and deliver food to the address you provide.
- To process payments, refunds, and adjustments through our payment partner.
- To send you order confirmations, delivery updates, receipts, and important account notifications.
- To respond to customer support requests and resolve disputes.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms.
- To improve and personalize Delroo — for example, suggesting restaurants near you or surfacing reorder shortcuts.
- To comply with applicable law, court orders, and our legal obligations.
3. How we share your information
- Restaurants you order from — we share your name, delivery address, order details, and any special instructions so they can prepare and hand off your order.
- Delivery drivers — we share your name, pickup/dropoff address, phone number (masked when possible), and order details for the duration of the delivery.
- Payment processors — we share what's necessary to charge your card, issue refunds, and meet fraud/anti-money-laundering requirements.
- Service providers — cloud hosting, analytics, email delivery, customer support tooling, and similar vendors who process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations.
- Legal compliance — to comply with subpoenas, court orders, or other lawful government requests; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Delroo, our users, or the public; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of company assets (with appropriate notice to you).
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Your choices and rights
- Access, correct, or delete the data in your account from your profile settings, or by emailing privacy@delroo.com.
- Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message.
- Disable location sharing in your browser or device settings; some features (auto-fill of delivery address, accurate ETA) will degrade gracefully.
- Disable push notifications in your browser or device settings; you'll still get the in-app status of your order.
- California, EU/UK, and other privacy-law residents have additional rights including portability and to object to processing. Email us at the address above to exercise them.
5. Data retention
We retain account and order information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations (typically up to seven years for order receipts). When data is no longer needed we either delete it or anonymize it.
6. Security
All traffic between your browser/app and Delroo is encrypted with TLS. Card details are tokenized via Stripe and never reach our servers. Access to production systems is restricted, logged, and audited. No system is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your information.
7. Children's privacy
Delroo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, email privacy@delroo.com and we'll delete it promptly.
8. International users
Delroo is operated from the United States. If you use the service from outside the US your information may be transferred to and processed in the US under the protections described in this Policy.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the service evolves. We'll post the new version at this URL and update the "Last updated" date above. If the change is material we'll also notify you by email or in-app.
